Deadheading Your Garden

You just purchased and planted some beautiful flowers in your window box.  If only you could preserve that beauty throughout the summer and keep them blooming.  Well, you can – the secret is in “deadheading” or removing the flowers that have passed so new ones can take their place.

Removing the dead blossoms from your plant will help them to flourish long into the growing season.  These petunias were purchased at Heavenly Flowers Garden Center in Whitman, Massachusetts in May of this year, notice how removing the dead flowers has kept them blooming long into August.  This is an excellent video that helped me keep my petunias blooming.
